“Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.” Vincent van Gogh.
The quote above by Vincent van Gogh describes how I feel about my art. Every drawing that I create is done with love, energy and a desire to make others feel happy through my art. Routine and habit are a must to secure and strengthen creativity.
This is what my daily routine looks like:
15 - Wake up to my alarm and have breakfast whilst chatting to the kids about their day ahead at school.
45 - Put on my cycling gear, and head out for a leisurely bike ride to enjoy the beautiful countryside and awaken my senses.
30 - Shower and head to my studio where I check emails and social media.
30 - Decide which materials to use to best reflect the lovely pet’s that owners have entrusted me to capture their character and likenesses. Listen to an audiobook, or some calming music and start drawing.
30 - Add the colour. My favourite and main materials are Faber Castell and Pan Pastels.
00 - Break for lunch. Answer emails and reply to social media.
30 - Back to drawing. Concentrating on the direction of the animal’s fur and drawing the tiny hairs is very time consuming and requires lots of patience and attention.
00 - Step back and review my work so far, then head to the Post Office to send out print and greeting card orders.
50 - Post or create a story on Social Media and spend a few minutes liking and commenting on other’s posts.
30 - Make a tasty and nutritious meal for my family and enjoy.
30 – Head out for a walk with the dog to stretch our legs.
00 - Chill time and look forward to the evening ahead.
